What We Do
A Better Option…
The school we wanted for our own teens didn’t exist, so we decided to start own own school. Forest Dell Institute for Learning is a place where teens can make close friendships, experience the joy of learning from teachers who are passionate about what they teach, and have a chance to learn and grow in an environment that supports high moral standards. Our school upholds high expectations for good language, modest dress, and uplifting conversation. Our students can go to school each day knowing they will be learning and growing without compromising their standards. They will study rigorous curriculum and learn to write papers without the use of AI, to take notes, study for tests, and to persevere and continue trying until they are able to show mastery in a topic. Our school is not a religious-based school, but the standards for curriculum, behavior, and expectations are guided by our strong personal Christian beliefs. Our school is a welcoming place for students of all learning backgrounds—brick and mortar, online, homeschool, religious, and non-traditionally schooled children. If your child has struggled in other learning environments or has been homeschooled and wants to keep their standards while also attending school with other teens, this is the school for you.
Our Mission
Provide a simplified quality secondary education that focuses on learning in the four core areas while also providing students with a chance to develop strong study habits, a love for learning, and a chance to explore through additional learning experiences such as field trips and guest instructors.
“Two roads diverged in a wood and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.” - -Robert Frost
A Note to Parents
Forest Dell Institute for Learning is a NON-Accredited program. We have chosen to be non-accredited to allow us the freedom to teach the curriculum and hire the staff that we feel are best suited to the position. Many of our guest instructors are experts in their fields of study, but they are not state-certified teachers. Being non-accredited provides us with the freedom to customize our program to meet the needs of our students and to uphold our beliefs, values, and vision for our school.
*IMPORTANT Credits from non-accredited programs DO NOT transfer to public schools (brick and mortar, online, or charter schools)
